Where the Wild Things Are

The first book I ever received as a gift was, "Where the Wild Things Are" written and illustrated by Maurice Sendak. I was four years old and my mother would read it to me every Sunday night before bed. I often begged to have it read other nights but to teach me patience and reward it only came out on Sunday evenings. I remember having dreams about Max, the main character who was a little boy who I imagined was my best friend. I still own the book today and plan to share it with my own children one day.
